Summer Smoothie Prep!

Summer time = Smoothie time!

I don’t know about you, but I am a big member of the smoothie bandwagon. As soon as the weather warms up in the spring, I am searching for new smoothie concoctions. But when you are turning a smoothie into a meal, it takes time. And when the clock is ticking at 6:30 am to get out the door, chopping up fresh fruit and washing greens isn’t always high on the priority list. Coffee is 😉

Last summer I found a great post on Pinterest about smoothie prep and it saved me tons of time, so I thought I’d share it, and all my summer favourite smoothie recipes with you all!

I prepare all my fruits and vegetables into Ziplock baggies, and write on the front of the bag all the extra add in’s required. So every morning I just need to dump my bag into my Vitamix, add my seeds and liquids, and we are good to go!

I have taken some of my favourite well known smoothie recipes and added some oils, seeds and avocado to give them a boost.


  • 1 cup chopped mango
  • ½ cup carrots
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 banana

Add In’s

  • ½ cup ice
  • ¼ coconut water
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flakes
  • 1 scoop of chia seeds

Vitamin C FuelledIMG_7637

  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of spinach

Add In’s

  • ½ cup coconut water
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 teaspoon flax oil
  • 1 chunk fresh ginger

  • ½ cup mango
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup kale
  • ½ cup pear
  • ½ cup avocado

Add In’s

  • 1 cup soy or almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup peaches
  • 1 banana

Add In’s

  • 1 cup soy or almond milk
  • ½ cup ice
  • 3 tablespoons of vanilla “yogurt”
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
